SEA

front cover copy.png

Have you ever heard someone say that sea levels are on the rise?

Or maybe you've heard them say the ice caps are melting, and polar bears now have to swim long distances. But what does this have to do with Florida? Do you know what a 4 degree temperature increase will do to Florida's industry?

Well you're in luck.

Sea Florida 2119 is a pop-up carnival, with games prizes, and interactive displays.

Each game will address a particular impact of climate change with regard to the State's interests. For example, one attraction is a small pool, created from old irrigation lines and a blue tarp. Once filled with water, locally purchased citrus will be tossed in along with debris one might find floating in an inshore waterway. Contestants will then attempt to scoop out a piece of citrus, which they can keep, with a plastic flower pot tied to the end of a long pole.

Each game or attraction will provide attendees with a number of raffle tickets depending on the level of success each contestant achieves. Then, upon returning to the carnival entrance, guests will be able to redeem their tickets for a prize in a manner similar to an arcade. The prize station will resemble a classic side-of-the-highway Florida citrus and discount Disney World ticket gas station.
