Students from the Environmental Science and Policy capstone class explored Lake Seminole on Saturday Feb., 25th. Apalachicola Riverkeeper volunteer coordinator Georgia Ackerman, with the help of other ARk board members led 12 students on a kayak trip that explored the lake formed by the confluence of the Flint and Chattahoochee rivers. The lake is formed by the Jim Woodruff dam, one of a series of dams controlled by the Army Corps of Engineers that regulate the amount of fresh water that flows into the Apalachicola River.
