The climate change carnival has been upgraded.
It will be forever known as “SEA Florida 2119.” It is a depiction of the future of Florida, where life on the sea meets central Florida. Decorations are essential to giving the attendee this feeling, and a large amount has been collected. Tarps, umbrellas, rope, chairs, and many other props have been accumulated. All of these items will be organized in an enclosed, staked out area.

Guests will be funneled in and out one entrance way, to give the appearance of entering another world. Once inside, there will be three interactive games: A spinning wheel of chance that will have possible outcomes of climate change, some negative, some positive, and each spinner will receive a prize corresponding to the result, A pool filled with water and various fruits or crops that guests will attempt to fish out using a rather difficult system of a bucket tied to the end of pole, and a hurricane toss, where guests will have several metal hurricanes that they will try to toss onto pegs that are positioned where major cities are located on a large wooden cutout of the state.
These will not be the only attractions. There will be several other “passive” attractions, that have instructions, and do not need to be manned by a carnival worker. These stations will be somewhat interactive or experience based and will require slightly fewer materials and coordination than the three main events. Another station will be the photobooth, where guests will be able to position themselves in front of several props and a backdrop in order to take cool photos that they can post on-line, using our brand of course.
Our twitter account has been made, and will be fortified this week, as our graphics and brand images are currently being developed. Our theme is rather specific, so creating graphics that reflect the overall themes is very important to the success of our on-line presence. A Facebook event page is also in the works, and will be live in the coming days. This will allow us to have one main source for details regarding the event. Using Facebook will allow us to easily share a link with many student groups or other participating organizations, since Facebook is a platform most small groups use to communicate.
By next meeting, our digital graphics, event pages, and social media pages will be live. Our games and attractions will also begin to be assembled, and the logistics of setup and transportation will be ironed out.
